May 2003 Transforming Dialogues The conference, co-sponsored by HGI and the Taos Institute was a highlight of April, bringing together almost 100 people for a shared learning experience. Conversations in and in-between theme sessions were bracketed by plenary presentations by Harlene Anderson, David Pare, Stan Witkin and Ken Gergen. Social events provided additional ways to connect and celebrate new and continuing relationships. HGI's 25th and Taos' 10th anniversaries were also cause for celebration. A collaborative commemorative quilt was produced as each participant created a "text-tile" representing thoughts and symbols of relationships to HGI and Taos, and postmodern and social constructionist ideas. Stay tuned for follow-up projects.
Steps to Success is a model concept developed to provide parents who are new to the CPS (Child Protective Services) system a resource for support, to connect with others who are "in the same boat", for a head-start on therapeutic services, and to develop direction for navigating the system successfully. Four, two-hour sessions will include conversation, experiential exercises, guests who are ex-clients of CPS and CPS caseworkers for question and answer, and a review of resources to utilize during the process. CPS and the Priesthood?: Sue Levin's Graduation Speech! Sue Levin was honored to be invited to be the keynote speaker at the graduation ceremony (March 3, 03) of 30+ new caseworkers. Her speech is attached below.
